How it's built

From the subgrade up

Every pour follows the same discipline: the steps a low bid skips.

01

Proper footing

Steps start below grade on a real footing so they don't settle or pull away from the house.

02

Even risers

Riser heights are kept even and within code so the stairs are comfortable and safe to climb.

03

Reinforcement

We reinforce the pour so the steps hold their edges and corners over time.

04

Slip-aware finish

A broom or textured finish gives footing in rain and helps with traction.

05

Clean tie-in

The new work is tied neatly into the existing porch, slab, or walkway.

Straight answers

Steps & Stairs questions, answered

How much do concrete steps cost?

Steps are usually priced per set rather than per square foot, based on the number of risers, footing depth, and how they tie into the house. We give you a firm number after seeing the entry.

What riser height do you build to?

We keep risers even and within local code so every step feels the same underfoot, since uneven risers are both uncomfortable and a trip hazard.

Can my steps be repaired, or do they need replacing?

It depends on the damage. Surface spalling can sometimes be patched, but failed footings or broken risers usually mean a rebuild. We'll tell you straight which one you're looking at.

Can you add railings to concrete steps?

We pour and finish the steps and set anchor points for railings, then coordinate the railing install so the steps meet your access and safety needs.
