Concrete Curb & Gutter

Curb is a drainage system before it is a line: poured to the flow line, tied into the inlets, and replaced in sections when a section is what failed.

How it's built

From the subgrade up

Every pour follows the same discipline: the steps a low bid skips.

01

Grade & flow line

We set the flow line first and work the curb to it, because water follows the grade whatever the stripe says.

02

Subgrade prep

Curb sits on compacted base like everything else. Curb poured on loose spoil rolls and cracks inside a season.

03

Machine or formed

Long straight runs go faster on a curb machine, tight radii and repairs get formed by hand. Most commercial sites need both, so we bring both.

04

Tie-ins on grade

Inlets, aprons, ramps, and existing curb get tied in on grade, so no lip is left at the joint to catch water or a plow blade.

05

Backfill & finish

Curb gets backfilled and finished so soil or pavement supports it, instead of leaving the back face hanging.

Site scale curb work · A job we'd put our name on

A thousand linear feet of curb, prepped and poured as one run

A site needed roughly 1,000 linear feet of concrete curb prepped and poured. At that length it stops being a curb job and becomes a grade job: the flow line has to hold across the entire run, which is why the prep gets scoped with the same weight as the pour.

Documentation before we break ground

What procurement and facilities teams need, on file before the first truck rolls.

  • Certificate of Insurance

A COI naming your entity, provided before work begins.

  • Workers' Comp Documentation

Coverage documentation for every crew on your site.

  • Lien Waivers

On file before we break ground, so payment clears clean.

Who This Serves

The teams we pour for

General contractors

Curb, gutter, and island packages delivered by the foot against the civil sheet.

Property managers & facilities

Failed curb sections replaced in place, without redoing the whole lot.

Retail & hospitality owners

Islands, medians, and drive-lane curb rebuilt with the site staying open.

Straight answers

Curb & Gutter questions, answered

How is curb and gutter priced?

By the linear foot, with curb type, the amount of demo and haul off, and the number of radii driving it. Straight runs come in under a lot full of islands. We measure the run and give you the footage in writing rather than a square-foot guess.

Can you replace a section of curb without redoing the run?

Yes. We saw-cut at the joints, take the failed section out, and pour back to the existing flow line on both sides. Grade is the catch: if the new section does not meet the old one exactly you get a birdbath at the joint, so the tie-in gets checked before we pour.

Machine-extruded or hand-formed curb?

Extruded curb is faster and more consistent on long straight runs. Hand-formed is what tight radii, islands, transitions, and repairs need. We pick per run, and most commercial sites end up with both on the same job.

How long before curb can take traffic?

Curb needs to cure before it gets backfilled or bumped, typically several days, and longer before a loaded truck runs beside it. We stage backfill and striping behind the pour so nothing leans on green concrete.

Do you handle drainage tie-ins and inlets?

We tie curb into existing inlets, aprons, and ramps on grade, and pour the transitions so water reaches the inlet instead of standing next to it. Where new structures have to be set, we coordinate that with your civil scope.
